Qualifications & Education:
o Evidence of sympathetic attitude toward elderly care o Demonstrated ability to read, write and carry out directions.
o Evidence of maturity and ability to deal effectively with job demands.
o Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
o Attend eight (10) hours of personal care-oriented services per year.
o Participate in professional meetings when directed.
o Ability to work closely supervised to ensure competence in providing client care.
o Must have a criminal history check conducted before being offered a position with the agency
Responsibilities:
o Provide personal hygiene assistance o Help clients take prescribed medication o Assist clients with ambulation o Assist with personal care and hygiene, plan and prepare meals o Complete client's shopping or accompany them to successfully do so o Perform housekeeping duties and report any unusual incidents o Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency o Other duties as assigned Physical Demands:
o Sufficient visual and hearing ability to comprehend written and verbal communication.
Ability to:
o Perform tasks involving activity which may include heavy lifting and extensive bending and standing.
o Deal effectively with stress.
o Work assigned hours per week.
o Lift up to 50
pounds.
o Work in a stressful environment.
o Drive up to 30
miles per day.
Additional Requirements:
o Assess and communicate with ill clients, co-workers, and general public.
o Must have a passion for caregiving and a desire to help others o Must be neat in appearance and practice good personal hygiene.
o Must have a reliable means of transport.
