Medical A/R Specialist

The Medical Account Receivable Specialist is responsible for insuring claims are worked and paid within a specific period of time, and all collections are forwarded to appropriate department for denials or collections attention if necessary.
Requirements:
Client needs (4) candidates for full-time positions for project lasting 4 - 6 months.
Full-time hours working Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm.
Start date will be Monday, April 27, 2015 for all positions. All candidates must be able to start on this date to be considered for employment.
All employees are evaluated on production. Efficiency, accuracy, and diligence are required of all employees, and metrics will be set, measured, and reported in weekly review meetings.
Essential Functions:
Work to ensure that claims are submitted and paid correctly.
Responsible for auditing accounts for accuracy and completeness
Follow-up with insurance companies on any unpaid claims and verify that claim has been received and is on file and being processed.
Communicate with co-workers information regarding insurance carrier updates and policies.
Correct any problems with the claim including but not limited to: proper CPT, ICD-9 code, insurance identification number, submission to correct address.
Field incoming calls from insurance companies, patients, different facilities, and physicians. Answer all questions pertaining to claim.
Print out claims and/or additional documentation as needed to ensure payment of claim.
Ability to resolve denials by writing appeal letters and documenting in patient account.
Report daily activity on accounts worked and transferred to outside collection agency
Report weekly and monthly on Outstanding A/R for assigned areas.
Additional tasks may be delegated as necessaryEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
